David Byrne – Australian & New Zealand Tour
Sculpted Touring LED Architecture Across Six Cities

Touring productions demand repetition without compromise.
For David Byrne’s Australian and New Zealand run, TDC delivered a large-format LED screens and camera systems across Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
At the centre of the design was a sculpted LED architecture built from ROE BQ tiles, configured into:
- A 10m x 7m upstage wall
- Dual 6.5m x 7m curved downstage walls
- Two 3.5m x 7m entrance features
The system incorporated multiple curvature angles (3° and 5° concave configurations), creating a layered visual environment rather than a flat touring backdrop.

Touring Architecture, Not Touring Screens
The LED system was supported by:
- ROE Carbon CB3 Mark II panels
- Black Marble LED floor
- 22K Barco UDM 4K22 laser projection for IMAG
- Integrated broadcast-grade camera workflows
Helios processing managed the multi-surface configuration, ensuring consistent performance across varied venues.
This was not simply a touring LED wall.
It was a touring visual architecture designed for repeatability.

Adapting Without Compromising
Every venue introduced different constraints.
In Melbourne, structural load limitations required a cut-down configuration and overnight re-engineering to maintain performance integrity within venue tolerances.
Touring production is not about rebuilding the show.
It’s about engineering a system that can adapt without losing creative intent.

Disciplined Delivery Across Six Cities
Across six major cities, TDC delivered:
- 1,000+ LED tiles
- Multi-angle curved architecture
- 22K laser projection IMAG integration
- Broadcast camera infrastructure
- Touring-grade structural support
Touring success is built on structure, clarity of scope and disciplined execution.
That is the difference between equipment supply and engineered delivery.
